About me

Come exactly as you are

I offer a warm, kind and creative space, and there is no expectation that you arrive with everything figured out.

Hello, I'm Delia

I'm a counsellor with a Gestalt therapy is a type of talk therapy that focuses on the present moment and your immediate thoughts, feelings, and actions rather than digging deep into your past. focus, and I work from a room in Rough Common, just outside Canterbury. I see adults and young people aged 16 to 18, in person, outdoors, and online.

I have ADHD, so I know from the inside what being neurodivergent is like, and how much of it nobody else sees. It can mean feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, like you are too much, or not enough, or always trying to work out how to fit in. I want to give you somewhere you don't have to mask or perform. You can just be you.

I'm a queer woman. I work with LGBTQ+ clients and offer a space where you can talk about identity, relationships, gender, and everything that can come with it, without having to explain the basics first.

How I work

You are the expert on your own life. I'm not here to tell you what to do.

I look at the whole of you: your thoughts, your feelings, your body, your relationships, and what is happening for you right now. Not just the problem you came in with.

Sometimes what we need most isn't someone to give us answers. It's someone who can sit alongside us, really listen, and help us make sense of what is going on.

You don't always have to find the right words. If words are hard, we can use pictures, drawing, objects or the sand tray instead. Some people find it much easier to show something than to say it.

What I believe, underneath all of it, is that people can grow and change when someone meets them with acceptance, kindness and real understanding.

What we might talk about

What I work with

People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons, and often for reasons they can't quite put into words yet. That is completely fine. Here is some of what I work with.

Anxiety and depression

Worry that won't switch off, low mood, being worn out, or a flatness that is hard to explain to anyone else.

Trauma and PTSD

Things that still feel close, at a speed you set. Nothing has to be talked about before you are ready.

Grief and loss

Losing someone, and the other losses people don't always call grief: relationships, health, or a future you had pictured.

Neurodivergence

ADHD, autism, late diagnosis, burnout and masking, from someone who knows it from the inside.

LGBTQ+ and gender identity

Identity, coming out, relationships, transition and family, in a space where you don't have to explain the basics first.

Relationships and self worth

Feeling too much or not enough, always pleasing other people, finding it hard to say no, or not quite knowing who you are outside what others expect.
